Frequently Asked Questions

Home health allows you to receive quality one-on-one care and attention from skilled medical professionals in the comfort of your own home for those who qualify. Being in the place where you’re most comfortable is not only less stressful but decreases your risk of infection and complications that may be found in other healthcare settings.

Home health is 100% covered by Medicare as long as you meet the requirements, remain eligible and your doctor certifies you need home health services. Other insurances may also cover the cost of in-home healthcare services. Once Nurse On Call is selected as your Home Health provider and we have an order from your physician we will verify benefits with your Insurance company and receive authorization as determined.

Absolutely! You have a legal right to choose your own healthcare provider. If your doctor or hospital discharge planner says you need home health services and you want to use our services, tell them that you’d like to go with Nurse On Call. We would love to help you on your journey back to better health.

Once you choose Nurse On Call as your home health care provider, one of our Home Health Care Coordinators will either visit you in person at the hospital, rehabilitation center or skilled nursing facility or reach out by phone to coordinate your care and discuss the services you need. Once we verify your insurance, we’ll schedule your first visit and answer any additional questions you might have about home health care.

The number of home health visits you have will be based on your personalized care plan. Your physician will determine the number of visits you should have in order to give you the best care possible. They may also choose to increase or decrease the number of visits during the course of home health services depending on how you’re doing.
